This Dwyer WD3-LP-D2-A Leak detector is a line powered water leak detector with DPDT relay, 11 to 27 VAC/DC, with audible alarm, adjustable mounting bracket included. This leak detector is installed in most leak trays on CROFCUs by water pipes that help cool air. If these pipes leak it can cause several damage to ceilings, lights etc. This device sends a alarm to the CROFCU and can diminish leak damage.

These leak detectors should be tested, usually sites don’t deal with leaks but making sure that your leak detector is working correctly, the sensor can be tested by touching a wire under the leak detector and shorting the contact. This test is simulates a water leak. You should see alarm both on the BMS and on the CROFCU.
It is also essential that the positioning of the detectors are correct, the contacts should be as close to the leak tray floor, this would help catch a leak early. If the detector is placed too high or not near the floor it might take longer for the detector to alarm and can cause damage to your system.
